The Junction (formerly known as New Life Praise Temple), was founded under the leadership of Pastor John W. Mabry Jr. in 2004. He received instructions from God to fulfill a vision which led to the launching of NLPT. The congregation began with five members, growing to well over a hundred members by 2007. Through strategic networking and his involvement in the Full Gospel Baptist Church Fellowship, Pastor Mabry and New Life Praise Temple gained notoriety both locally and nationally. Creating conferences like, “Can Anything Good Come Out of Compton”, “The Women’s Conference”, and His Fresh Oil Services.

 

In November 2009, Pastor Mabry received his wings, leaving behind a beautiful family, church and community. God in His infinite wisdom sent assistance during the time of transition, in the form of Elder Lee D. Finnie Jr. in January 2010. After seeking the Lord for a vision to lead the New Life family, Elder Finnie immediately sprang into action with their first God given assignment to revive, and restore the congregation. In March of 2010, New Life Praise Temple elected Elder Lee D. Finnie Jr. to the position of Interim Pastor and installed him as the Senior Pastor on April 3, 2011. This new beginning propelled New Life into a time of refreshing and through prayer and consultation from God, the ministry changed its name to New Life Community Christian Center. New Life began growing spiritually and physically. 

 

There have been many blessings and breakthroughs for New Life and its membership, since the ministry relocated to a larger facility centrally located in Watts. Pastor Lee Finnie has been able to bring relevant and practical preaching to the church, putting the ministry in position to meet all the needs of the community (Compton, Lynwood, and Watts).

At the age of 15 years God evolved us to make yet another major shift with a total ministry overhaul. God has compelled us to focus on unifying the body of Christ for the benefit of the believer in Christ. This new ministry transition took 3 years to come to fruition. Accept Christ as their personal Savior.

Accept the purpose that God has given them.

Accept the tribe that God has sent to love them to life on a Godly level.

Accept that we’re called to boldly take ministry to the marketplace as a service to Christ.

Accept the abundance that is attained through committed faithfulness to Christ and the Tribe He has given

Accept that God thru Christ has empowered you to give what you have accepted to those that you are called to gift.
